Galerstein Gender Center

We at the UTD Gender Center are passionately committed to supporting and advocating for and with our UTD community members. We recognize that you may be deeply impacted by recent changes within the structure of how you learn and live on campus, while our community shares the responsibility of social distancing. For those of us who currently hold the privilege of good health, remember that our actions can still negatively impact those without this privilege. Think of this time as social justice at work! The GGC is here to affirm all people and treasure all the beautiful elements of identity that enrich our campus community. To be clear: we see you, we value you, and you will always have a place here. Though the Center physical space is temporarily closed to visitors, our staff is present virtually to advise, listen, and connect with you through email (gendercenter@utdallas.edu), Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. The GGC welcomes you back to campus!

Our staff wants all of us to be safe, so we will be wearing masks and social distancing within our suite and we encourage you to do the same.

All GGC programs, trainings, workshops and meetings are currently virtual. Email [email protected] to set up an appointment.

Signing in and out will be required for all GGC visitors.

Stay safe. Please wear a face mask throughout your visit to UTD. Free masks are available here, just ask! Maintain at least 6 feet (2 meters) separation from others.

Please note:  Kitchen space is for staff use only at this time, including water, sink, microwave and coffee. No food preparation or eating is allowed.

LilyPad is a campus resource that we provide for your convenience, safety and privacy.

This room has cleaning supplies available in the cabinet.  Please wipe down any contact surfaces before leaving the room, so that we can continue to provide a clean lactation space for all campus members who need it.

The Galerstein Gender Center (GGC), under the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, has been in existence since 1996. We advocate and support women, LGBT+ people and all communities facing oppression. Our programs are intersectional and delivered through educational workshops, lectures, leadership development, advising, resource referral, celebratory programs and advocacy. We also offer scholarships, volunteer opportunities, and organizational advising.

In the GGC you will find meeting and study space and the GGC Resource Collection, which contains a number of books on feminism and gender diversity. We are also home to the first dedicated lactation space on campus for parents who are nursing. We invite you to visit the GGC and find out how you can become involved.
